Install the WebHits HTML code with Netscape Composer

  1. On the menu bar, choose "Edit->Preferences...".
  2. Choose "Composer->Publishing".
  3. Uncheck "Maintain links" and "Keep images with page".
  4. Click "OK".
  5. On the menu bar, choose "Insert->HTML Tag...".
  6. Paste the WebHits HTML code exactly as it was given to you.

    IMPORTANT! Make sure the cursor is flush against the end of the HTML code with no spaces or line breaks. This editor is extremely picky. If the cursor is not flush against the end of the code, you'll get a "Premature close of tag" error message.

  7. Click "OK".

That's it. You should see a yellow link symbol appear. If you preview the page, you should see the counter.


Install the WebHits HTML code with Netscape Gold

  1. On the menu bar, choose "Options->Editor Preferences...".
  2. Click the "Publish" tab.
  3. Uncheck "Maintain links" and "Keep images with page".
  4. Click "OK".
  5. On the menu bar, choose "Insert->HTML Tag...".
  6. Paste the WebHits HTML code exactly as it was given to you.

    IMPORTANT! Make sure the cursor is flush against the end of the HTML code with no spaces or line breaks. This editor is extremely picky. If the cursor is not flush against the end of the code, you'll get a "Premature close of tag" error message.

  7. Click "OK".

That's it. You should see a yellow link symbol appear. If you preview the page, you should see the counter.


Install the WebHits HTML code with MS FrontPage

  1. On the menu bar, choose "Insert".
  2. Choose "HTML Markup".
  3. Enter the WebHits HTML code exactly as it was given to you.

    IMPORTANT! You must type in the code manually. You cannot copy and paste!

  4. Click "OK".

Install the WebHits HTML code with MS Word

You cannot install the WebHits HTML code with MS Word. Word is a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor that does not allow you to enter raw HTML code. However, you can open HTML documents created by Word in a text editor such as Notepad and copy and paste the WebHits HTML code from there.


Install the WebHits HTML code with MS Publisher

You cannot install the WebHits HTML code with MS Publisher. Publisher is a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor that does not allow you to enter raw HTML code. However, you can open HTML documents created by Publisher in a text editor such as Notepad and copy and paste the WebHits HTML code from there.
